Rules for Functions and Processes
All activities are represented by rectangles with rounded corners (known as "cushions"). This distinguishes the activities from data, which are represented by ordinary rectangles.

Processes are also represented by cushions. In diagrams, processes may be distinguished from functions by the use of different coloring or shading. An example of a process is:
