Application Development Methodology

User Design (for RAD)

The User Design stage produces a detailed system area model, an outline system design and an implementation plan.

End users participating in JAD workshops perform the analysis and design tasks associated with this stage. These tasks are led by the RAD workshop leader and assisted by IS professionals. The results of the workshops are recorded in the CASE tool. Information in the repository developed in the JRP workshop or from a BAA project are used as input. If a BAA has been completed then the workshop focuses on the design of the system with a subsequent reduction in the time scale required for this stage. The User Design stage typically takes 3 to 5 weeks to complete.
