Application Development Methodology

Rapid Application Development (RAD)

Different People at Different Stages

At each stage of the rapid development life cycle, different people must act with speed. At the start, it is critical that management, including the Sponsor, initiate the project quickly, cutting through any political delays or bureaucracy. At the Requirements Planning stage, key end users must be available to participate in the Joint Requirements Planning workshop, and, following that, users must move quickly in the User Design stage (particularly in the Joint Application Design sessions). While the system is being constructed, the team that is using the CASE toolset to do detailed design and code generation must be geared to move fast. Finally, at the end of the life cycle, the team handling training and cutover must also move quickly.
