The skills of the person who organizes and presides over facilitated sessions are particularly important to the success of rapid development. This person should be employed full-time conducting such workshops in order to become highly proficient at the task. Usually the same person conducts both Joint Requirements Planning (JRP) and Joint Application Design (JAD) workshops.
The job of workshop leader should be regarded as a highly professional position, requiring professional skills that take time to develop.
Workshop leaders should be chosen mainly for their human communications skills. They may come from either the end-user or the IT communities, although in practice most come from the IT community.
