Application Development Methodology

Rapid Application Development (RAD)

Variations

The RAD development path may be varied according to the nature of the system being built and the tools being used. Depending on the size and complexity of the system, the four stages of the RAD life cycle should have an elapsed time of three to six months.

A typical RAD life cycle includes one Joint Requirements Planning (JRP) workshop and two or more Joint Application Design (JAD) workshops. A timetable illustrates a realistic schedule for the Requirements Planning and User Design stages of a six-month RAD project.
