The section of Volume 1 entitled ADM Tasks and Deliverables by Stage contains detailed information about both the deliverables producible by the ADM and the tasks which would produce them.
Listed with each deliverable is the identifier of the task which creates or updates the deliverable. One can thereby easily look up the task(s) creating the deliverable to discern additional information about it. Conversely, listed with each task is the identifier of the deliverable(s) which it creates or updates. This enables the project participant to quickly glean more information about various aspects of the deliverable itself.
This cross referencing between the deliverables and tasks is intended to allow interested parties to easily and quickly find and digest the available information on only those topics which are of immediate interest to them.
The ADM Alternative Path Description section describes six alternative development paths. The sections entitled ADM Tasks by General Paths Matrix and ADM Tasks by RAD Path Matrix contain additional information about each task. It indicates - for each development path - whether each task should be executed or whether it may be waived under certain circumstances. If the task may be waived, it identifies the party (role) who should make that decision.
The ADM Roles and Responsibilities section identifies the various parties (roles) involved in the information system project and what responsibilities they have. This section concludes with a matrix associating the tasks, roles and responsibilities in a easily readable format.
The ADM Glossary defines all terms that may be new to the reader or which may have multiple interpretations.
The ADM Bibliography section contains information about an assortment of sources which may be of interest to anyone developing or maintaining information systems.
The ADM Techniques section describes development techniques employed in one or more ADM tasks. This section also includes an extensive description of the philosophy and issues involved in the Rapid Application Development methodology.
Review the ADM Lifecycle section for additional information on how to use this manual.
