The ADM provides a standard, consistent way of developing and maintaining information systems. It provides uniform terminology and expectations for all project participants. This consistency reduces the learning curve when bringing new people into an on-going project. It also serves as a roadmap for both experienced and inexperienced staff. |

The ADM specifies several types of roles and responsibilities associated with the execution of tasks and development of deliverables. The ADM identifies organizational and individual roles which can be associated with the specified responsibilities. Each of the roles can perform one or more of the specified responsibilities for any specific deliverable. Further, an individual or organization can perform more than one of the specified roles in any particular task or project. |
